Q 3- Do you agree that between crime and punishment it is mainly a battle of wits ?
Ans - Crime and punishment go hand in hand. Both require wits. Before committing a crime, a lot of wits is used. A strategy is planned and the criminal acts according to the plan. He knows that punishment depends on witness - human or material or circumstantial. when the crime is committed, the criminal destroys the human or material witnesses. The police frame the charges and submit the case in a court. Then the defence lawyer and the prosecution lawyer fight a battle of wits in the court. Then the court asked for witness. If the witness is there, they also use their wits.
If there is no witness that is the police fails to present human or materials witness, the judge had to use circumstantial witness,The judge has to use his wits and then gives the verdict.
In most of the cases the criminal is one step ahead of the law enforcing agencies. Evans plans the strategy of escape very carefully and meticulously that he outwits the officers of the jail and police. Evans was kept under the maximum security and the best possible precautions were taken, but he escaped the jail fourth time.
